Biography

Elise Payzan is a Professor of Finance at UNSW Business School, where she joined in September 2010. She earned her PhD in Finance from the Swiss Finance Institute, obtaining a diploma as an Engineer Statistician from ENSAE Paris and graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure de la rue d’Ulm, Paris. She has also completed part of her PhD at the London School of Economics and has studied Economics at Princeton University. Her research program aims to elucidate how people perceive and react to financial risks using a combination of theoretical and experimental methods, including decision neuroscience, experimental economics, and financial economics. Elise collaborates with top behavioral scientists globally, including institutions in North America such as Brown University, California Institute of Technology, Columbia University, and Wharton Business School, as well as Geneva University in Europe. She was a visiting associate at the California Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2013.
