Biography

Elise van den Hoven is an Associate Professor in the Future Everyday cluster at the Department of Industrial Design of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). She is also a Full Professor at the School of Software, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. Utilizing her expertise, van den Hoven leads the international research program Materialising Memories, which collaborates with TU/e, UTS, and the University of Dundee (UoD, UK). Her research focuses on human-computer interaction and people-centered design, with an emphasis on tangible physical interaction and supporting human remembering activities. She holds an MSc degree in Biology from Utrecht University and a degree in Human-Computer Interaction from Eindhoven University of Technology, where she also completed her PhD. Previously, she served as an Assistant Professor at TU/e from 2003 to 2013, after which she was appointed as Associate Professor. In 2012, she joined UTS as an Associate Professor, earning a promotion to Full Professor in 2016.
