Dr. Elizabeth Berger

Biography

Dr. Elizabeth Berger is an Assistant Professor of Breast Surgical Oncology at Yale Medicine, where she is dedicated to improving health outcomes for breast cancer patients. A graduate of Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, Dr. Berger completed her General Surgery Residency at Loyola University Medical Center. She furthered her education with a Master of Science in Health Services and Outcomes Research from Northwestern University and completed her fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she was a selected Breast Cancer Alliance Fellow. Her work focuses on surgical quality, cancer care quality measures, and national accreditation for breast cancer surgery. Dr. Berger has published extensively in high-impact journals such as JAMA and the Annals of Surgery, and she has contributed chapters to surgical textbooks. She is also involved in national quality committees and has served as the American College of Surgeons Clinical Scholar-in-Residence. Dr. Berger's commitment to her field is reflected in her active role in research and clinical practice at the Smilow Cancer Hospital and the Yale Cancer Center.
