Biography

Elizabeth Bondi-Kelly is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan. She received her PhD in Computer Science from Harvard University, where she was advised by Professor Milind Tambe. Prior to her current role, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) through the METEOR Fellowship program. Elizabeth's research interests lie broadly in the area of artificial intelligence (AI) with a focus on social impact, specifically across multi-agent systems, machine learning, conservation, and public health. Her work has been published in premier venues such as AAAI, AAMAS, AIES, and IJCAI, with applications aimed at supporting conservation efforts. She has earned recognition through several awards, including the Google Academic Research Award in 2024 and the MIT EECS Rising Stars award in 2021. Additionally, she founded and currently leads 'Try AI', a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the AI field, while also building community and educational programs that focus on AI for social impact.
