Biography

Elizabeth is an estates and trusts lawyer and currently serves as the Director of Estate Planning at a national bank, utilizing her expertise in estate, trust, and incapacity issues. She has a diverse background, having worked at a trust company and a boutique estate litigation firm. Elizabeth holds an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and an LLB from Osgoode Hall, and she was called to the Bar in 2008. She has furthered her professional development by obtaining the Trusts and Estates (TEP) designation from the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP) and a Diploma in Art Profession Law and Ethics from the Institute of Art & Law in the UK. Most recently, she completed her LLM in Tax Law from Osgoode Hall. Elizabeth is active in the legal community, previously co-chairing the Continuing Professional Development with the Ontario Bar Association and serving on the Estates and Trusts Executive and the STEP Diploma Working Group. She has taught the Wills and Estates Bar Admission course at the University of Toronto and has frequently spoken at legal conferences and seminars. Additionally, she has authored numerous papers concerning capacity, estates, trusts, and tax law, including contributions to The Annotated Ontario Estates Statutes and Estate Litigation as well as the Law of Trusts Diploma course with STEP Canada.
