Biography

Elizabeth completed her undergraduate law degree at Worcester College, Oxford. After joining the Faculty of Law, she qualified as a solicitor and practiced for several years before moving to the Law Commission as a team lawyer in the Property, Family, and Trust Law team. At the Law Commission, Elizabeth was involved in reviewing the law of intestacy and family provision claims upon death, leading to the Inheritance Trustees’ Powers Act 2014. She has been involved in significant projects leading to the enactment of the Perpetuities and Accumulations Act 2009 and the Trusts (Capital and Income) Act 2013, addressing issues related to trust, land, and charity law reform. Elizabeth has taught courses related to Land Law and Trusts, as well as a Roman Introduction to Private Law.
