Biography

Elizabeth Fischer is a Lecturer at Columbia Law School and the Managing Attorney at the Criminal Defense Practice of the Neighborhood Defender Service (NDS) of Harlem. She has dedicated her entire legal career to public defense, having joined NDS-Harlem in 2008 as an Equal Justice Works Fellow sponsored by the law firm Latham & Watkins LLP, where she developed NDS's Youth Law Team. Elizabeth's international experience includes serving as a fellow with the International Legal Foundation, where she mentored and trained public defenders in Myanmar. She completed her BA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005 and earned her JD from Harvard Law School in 2008.
