Dr. Elizabeth Hajek

Biography

Elizabeth Hajek is a professor in the Department of Geosciences at Penn State University. She has expertise in quantitative stratigraphy and sedimentary basin analysis, focusing on autogenic processes and sedimentary systems. Her research contributions have advanced the understanding of how sedimentary systems evolve over time and the dynamics involved in sediment transport and deposition. Hajek completed her Ph.D. at the University of Wyoming in 2009 and has since been involved in various academic and administrative duties, including serving as Associate Head for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within her department. Her commitment to education and mentorship has helped cultivate a diverse learning environment for students pursuing geoscience. Hajek actively participates in the academic community, promoting research and collaboration among scholars in her field.
