Biography

Elizabeth Rae Hatfield earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Michigan in 2017 and completed a General Practice Residency at Michigan Medicine in 2018. She then completed the TMD & Orofacial Pain Residency at Michigan Medicine in 2020. Since joining the University of Michigan faculty, she has focused on Hospital Dentistry as well as TMD & Orofacial Pain management. In 2022, she became the program director for the TMD & Orofacial Pain Residency. Her clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of temporomandibular joint disorders, headaches, and neuropathic pain disorders. Dr. Hatfield is especially interested in furthering undergraduate and graduate education in her clinical area. Her research interests are centered on innovative management strategies for orofacial pain disorders and fostering inter-professional education and collaboration.
