Dr. Hazel followed medical school residencies Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at McGill University and completed fellowships at the University of British Columbia, McGill University, and Université de Montreal. She possesses a Certificate in Medical Education-Digital Citizenship from the Harvard Macy Institute and is currently pursuing an International Master’s degree in Health Leadership at the Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill. Dr. Hazel has designed and implemented a unique patient-centered multidisciplinary clinic aimed at improving the lives of young adults with rheumatic diseases, addressing the psycho-social impacts of living with chronic conditions. She has also developed a rehabilitation program for adults with hypermobility type Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and recorded a four-part podcast on juvenile arthritis transition care. In 2022, Dr. Hazel was named to McGill’s Faculty Honour List and received the McGill Faculty Award for Teaching Innovation, previously earning the Clinical Innovation Award in Internal Medicine in 2018.
