Biography

Elizabeth Jacobs is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at Brown University, where she also serves as the Program Director for the Pediatric Emergency Fellowship at Hasbro Children's Hospital. She graduated from Temple University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Hasbro Children's Hospital. After completing a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Children's National Medical Center, Jacobs returned to Rhode Island to continue her academic and clinical work, being selected as the fellowship director in 2013. Her research interests primarily focus on Medical Education, Asynchronous Learning, Curriculum Development, Sports Related Concussions, Emergency Preparedness, and Sudden Cardiac Arrests. In 2022, she received a grant from the American Academy of Pediatrics to develop HeartSAFE schools in Rhode Island, aiming to help schools create cardiac action plans for sudden cardiac arrest events.
