Biography

Elizabeth McCallion researches Canadian politics with a focus on Parliament. She is interested in the rules of Parliament that constrain the behavior of legislators and the gendered nature of these rules, which produce gendered outcomes. Her current work examines representational behavior in the Senate, the gender of cabinet ministers, and the diversity of parliamentary committees, as well as lobbying in Canada. An upcoming project reflects on intersectional representation considering race/Indigeneity and gender in the House of Commons and Senate. Her research has been featured in journals such as the Canadian Journal of Political Science and Politics & Gender.
