In 2019, Elizabeth Muñoz served as faculty of the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences and as a research associate in the Population Research Center at The University of Texas at Austin. In 2020, she became a faculty affiliate at the Center for Aging Population Sciences. Prior to this, she was a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Riverside. Key areas of inquiry include the links between psychological, social, and environmental stressors and cognitive functioning throughout the lifespan, along with the examination of stress sources affecting cognitive function in Latinx adults. Muñoz employs various research designs, including longitudinal and ecological momentary assessments, to investigate the early modifiable predictors of adult cognitive health and to address inequities in aging.
