Biography

Elizabeth Ann Stier, MD, is a Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She has extensive experience in research and clinical practice focused on anal cancer prevention among HIV-positive men and women, cervical cancer screening and prevention, and vulvar dysplasia. Dr. Stier has been involved in several significant NIH-funded studies, including the ANCHOR study, which evaluates the effectiveness of screening for anal cancer precursors in HIV-infected women. She holds an MD from Cornell University and an AB from Brown University. In addition to her role as a primary investigator on numerous research projects, she teaches and mentors students and residents in her field. Throughout her career, Dr. Stier has contributed to several grant-funded projects aimed at improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations at risk for HPV-related cancers, consistently advocating for improved prevention strategies and treatment options in resource-limited settings.
