Biography

Elizabeth Strickland, Ph.D., CCC-A, is a professor at Purdue University in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. She completed her M.S. in Audiology at Purdue in 1994 and received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota in the same year. Following her doctoral studies, she completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Florida. Since joining Purdue University in 1995, Dr. Strickland has been actively involved in teaching and research, particularly focusing on behavioral measures of hearing and the processing of peripheral auditory systems. Her research interests include psychoacoustic measures, cochlear hearing impairment, and auditory signal processing. Dr. Strickland also serves as the Graduate Chair of the Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and is the Director of the NIH Training Grant for the department. She teaches graduate courses in psychoacoustics and hearing conservation and has published extensively in notable journals in her field, reflecting her expertise in auditory perception and developmental health. Additionally, she has held leadership roles and received several awards recognizing her contributions to research and education in audiology.
