Professor Dr. Elizabeth Swisher

Biography

Dr. Elizabeth Swisher specializes in Gynecologic Oncology and is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington. She completed her MD at the University of California, San Diego, in 1992, and continued her training with an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Washington. She went on to a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, in 1999. Dr. Swisher is board certified in Gynecologic Oncology since 2003 and in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2001. Her research interests are focused on genetics, personalized therapy for gynecologic cancers, and early detection of ovarian cancer. She is passionate about providing comprehensive oncology care, which informs her clinical practice. Dr. Swisher is also involved in clinical trials exploring the genomic predictors of therapy response, and she is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She enjoys the outdoors and participates in activities like golfing, hiking, skiing, and family photography.
