Dr. Elizabeth Verna

Biography

Dr. Elizabeth C. Verna is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University, specializing in hepatology and transplantation. She is the Director of Clinical Research at the Columbia University Transplant Initiative and plays a pivotal role in research addressing end-stage liver disease and liver transplantation. Dr. Verna has an active clinical research program at the Transplant Clinical Research Center, focusing on various liver diseases including autoimmune hepatitis, hepatitis B and C, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. With an education background from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, she completed her residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia and furthered her training through a fellowship at the same institution.
