Biography

Elizabeth Webb is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at Western University. She earned her Ph.D. from Western University in 2000. Her research focuses on stable-isotope biogeochemistry, investigating the interactions within the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum, along with the application of isotopic analysis to models of paleoclimate. Webb has made significant contributions to understanding carbon sequestration and water resource availability, particularly in ecosystems that are experiencing high rates of vegetation change. Through her selected publications, she has addressed topics such as the limitations of environmental signals in isotopic studies and the stable carbon isotope signatures in ancient agricultural soils. Webb is actively involved in graduate research and teaches courses on geochemical cycles and the origin of the solar system.
