Biography

Associate Professor Elizabeth Williams is a nuclear physicist with a PhD in nuclear physics from Yale University. She joined the Australian National University (ANU) in 2012 and has held an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) Fellowship, focusing on nuclear reactions and the design of safety-critical systems. Currently, she convenes the Algorithmic Futures Policy Lab and teaches in the School of Engineering, where she also oversees undergraduate majors and minors in nuclear systems. With a commitment to research and education, Williams has supervised numerous research students and has contributed to various projects, including the 24th Canberra International Physics Summer School. Her research output has resulted in significant citations and she remains actively involved in advancing nuclear physics.
