Biography

Elizabeth (Becky) Yano is an adjunct professor at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine, where she also serves as the Director of the VA HSR&D Center for Study of Healthcare Innovation, Implementation & Policy. With over 30 years of experience in health services research and program evaluation, Dr. Yano has a rich background in health care epidemiology, biostatistics, and health policy. Her research focuses on evaluating multilevel factors associated with patient experience and the development of evidence-based quality improvement (EBQI) approaches to enhance care models for women veterans. She has directed several initiatives, including the Women Veterans’ Healthcare CREATE Initiative, and has been recognized with numerous awards for her contributions to health services research. Dr. Yano is a national leader in developing infrastructure and partnerships to improve care for women veterans within the VA healthcare system. She teaches in various health services programs and is involved in mentoring postdoctoral fellows and developing training programs in research.
