Elizabeth Young is an Assistant Professor in Sociology at Tilburg University. She is a political cultural sociologist whose research focuses on democratization, nationalism, religion, identity, and political violence. Her current research interests include projects on national identity and state transformations related to democratization, unification, and secession. She also examines the causes and consequences of political electoral violence and partisan perceptions of electoral integrity. Elizabeth has conducted extensive field research in Kenya, Tunisia, and Uganda.
