Elke de Jong graduated from the Medical School of the University Medical Centre St Radboud, Nijmegen, Netherlands, and completed a residency in dermatology. With a strong focus on psoriasis research, she has been the head of the outpatient department for 20 years and has authored or co-authored over 200 publications. She has guided and assisted 19 research fellows in composing their theses. Her main research topic is dermatology, particularly the efficacy and safety of systemic treatments for psoriasis. In 2005, she established a continuous registry for biologic treatment in daily practice for psoriasis, contributing to over 100 studies. She served as a board member and secretary of the National Board Dutch Association Dermatologists (NVDV), member treasurer of the board of the Dutch Belgian CME Dermatology Venereology (SNNDV), and was appointed president of the national advisory board on immunodermatoses. She actively contributed to the development of national and European guidelines for systemic treatment of psoriasis. In 2016, she was appointed as a Professor of Inflammatory Skin Diseases at Radboud University Nijmegen and became the Head of the Department of Dermatology at Radboudumc in 2019.
