Biography

Ellen Kampman is a nutritional epidemiologist and Chair of Nutrition and Disease at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Her research focuses on the role of lifestyle in cancer prevention and prognosis, conducting both observational and intervention studies in high and low/medium income countries. She has published over 200 original scientific peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and serves as a senior editor of the AACR journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention. Ellen has obtained research grants from both governmental and non-governmental bodies totaling approximately 15 million Euros and has supervised more than 20 PhD students. She studied Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University, was a visiting fellow at Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, and received postdoctoral training at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.
