Dr. Elli Papangelakis

Biography

Elli Papangelakis is an Assistant Professor and holds the Fairley Gadsby Research Chair in Fluvial Geomorphology at McMaster University. Her research primarily focuses on fluvial geomorphology, particularly examining how human activities and urbanization impact river environments. She is dedicated to developing and testing new science-based strategies to better understand and manage river systems. Papangelakis has an extensive educational background, having obtained her PhD from the University of Waterloo, an MSc from the University of British Columbia, and a BSc from the University of Toronto. Her postdoctoral training includes positions as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Western University and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Waterloo from 2020 to 2021.
