Dr. Elliot Drobetsky

Biography

Elliot Drobetsky is a professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the Université de Montréal, specializing in the fields of molecular biology and oncology. His research has focused on cellular responses to DNA damage, particularly the regulation of nucleotide excision repair (NER) during the S phase of the cell cycle in human cells. NER is crucial for removing DNA damage caused by various environmental mutagens and chemotherapeutic agents. His work has significant implications for cancer therapy, especially in understanding how cells respond to treatments involving agents like cisplatin. Drobetsky has a robust supervisory role guiding graduate students through their doctoral and master's research.
