Biography

Elliott Hauser studies how information systems shape social reality. His work focuses on the contexts and actions that occur in light of information, critically engaging with the computational production of time and the generation of scientific facts. He investigates the temporality of educational data science and is currently examining the role of robotics in human and non-human actions, especially in the context of information flow. Elliott is the Co-Lead of the Living Working Robots project, which is a collaboration of eleven Principal Investigators from seven disciplines. They deploy methods to study robots on the UT Austin campus through a sociotechnical lens. Holding a PhD in Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he is a member of the Royster Society of Fellows.
