Biography

Elliott Prasse-Freeman received his PhD from the Department of Anthropology at Yale University. He has conducted long-term fieldwork in Myanmar, leading to the publication of his book, 'Rights Refused', by Stanford University Press. He has been awarded the 2025 Chr Michelsen Institute’s Public Anthropologist Award. His work incorporates themes of human rights discourse, humanitarian care and exclusion, and biopolitical regulation.
