Elly Hol is the Vice-Dean of Research at the University Medical Center Utrecht and a full professor specializing in glial biology and brain diseases at Utrecht University. Her work is translational and includes studies on glial cells using human post-mortem brain tissue, human cell models, and mouse models of brain diseases. She trained as a medical biologist with a specialization in molecular neurobiology and obtained her PhD from Utrecht. Hol received the Max-Planck Fellowship and has furthered her research at the Max-Planck Institute.
