Dr. Elodie Douarin

Biography

Elodie Douarin joined University College London in June 2012 and currently holds the position of Professor in the School of Slavonic and East European Studies. Her research interests focus on Applied Micro-economics, Transition Economics, Cultural Institutional Economics, Happiness Studies, and Political Participation. She has previously worked at Imperial College, SOAS, Kent University, and University of Sussex. Douarin served as the Director of the Centre for Comparative Studies of Emerging Economies from 2013 to 2019 and is a founding member of the Friday Association for Institutional Studies. She co-edited the 'Palgrave Handbook of Comparative Economics' in 2021, which provides comprehensive insights into Comparative Economics and its origins in post-communist transformation. Douarin's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of London and advanced studies from the University of Toulouse and a French Engineering School.
