Biography

Elsa D. Angelini co-leads the Data Science Group at the Institute of Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (ITMAT) NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). She is also the co-director of the Heffner Biomedical Imaging Laboratory at Columbia University, affiliated with the Department of Data-Signal-Image at Telecom Paris. She has contributed to the authorship of 140 peer-reviewed articles and has graduated 19 PhD students. Additionally, she is a Senior Member of IEEE and served as the Vice-President of Technical Activities for the IEEE EMBS from 2017 to 2019. Angelini has held the role of Associate Editor for two journals: Medical Image Analysis (Elsevier) and Biomedical Imaging (Cambridge Press), previously overseeing IEEE TBME, JBHI, and Open EMB, while also participating in the steering committee of IEEE T-MI. She is an elected member of various boards including EMBS AdCom and the CNRS INS2I Scientific Advisory Board, and has been involved in the program committee for MICCAI conferences from 2007 to 2012 and co-chaired the SPIE Medical Imaging Conference from 2016 to 2019. Furthermore, she has been an organizing committee member for MICCAI and ISBI conferences.
