Dr. Elsa Delgado Angulo

Biography

Elsa Karina Delgado-Angulo is a Lecturer in Dental Public Health at King's College London. Her research focuses on childhood dental visits, oral health inequalities, and the impact of breastfeeding on adult oral health. She has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed articles that examine diverse aspects of oral health, including ethnic inequalities in functional dentition among British adults and the impact of social class on self-perceived oral health in adults. Delgado-Angulo's research engages with communities, particularly refugees, to explore the intersection of dental health and socio-economic factors. She aims to improve population oral health and reduce health disparities through collaborative mixed-methods research. In addition to her work in academia, she is actively involved in public health initiatives and has expertise in evaluating the effectiveness of community dental health interventions. By integrating her research findings into practice, she strives to enhance the delivery of dental services and advocate for policies that address oral health inequalities.
