Biography

Elsa Yvanez is an archaeologist specialized in textile production in the ancient Nile Valley, focusing on the economic significance of spinning and weaving. She is an associate professor in Textile Archaeology at the Centre for Textile Research, Saxo Institute, University of Copenhagen. Yvanez's research interests encompass Egyptology, cultural identity, and material culture, particularly in relation to burial practices and the social significance of textiles in ancient civilizations.
