Dr. Elton Crim

Biography

Elton J. Crim Jr. is a Clinical Professor and Director of the Higher Education MS Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's School of Education. He graduated from DePaul University with undergraduate and master's degrees in Biology and Public Service Management, respectively, and received his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Penn State University, which is known for its distinguished program in this field. Throughout his career, Professor Crim has taught under the mentorship of notable academics such as William G. Tierney and Estelle Bensimon. He began his professional journey in higher education at DePaul University, where he worked in student affairs. Since arriving in Wisconsin in 1996, he has held several significant roles, including Senior Policy Analyst in the Office of Multicultural Affairs at UW-System, Director of Multicultural Affairs at the School of Human Ecology, Assistant Dean of Students, Associate Dean of Students, and Director of Student Conduct. His extensive experience in educational leadership and commitment to enhancing student experiences are reflected in his current academic pursuits.
