Dr. Elvira Uyarra

Biography

Elvira Uyarra is a Professor of Innovation Studies at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, where she also serves as Executive Director of the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research. She has been an adjunct professor at the Mohn Centre for Innovation and Regional Development at the University of Western Norway and a visiting fellow at the Centre for Innovation Management Research at Birkbeck, University of London. Uyarra's research focuses on science and innovation policy, management, and regional innovation, reflecting a strong interest in regional science and EU policy on regional cohesion. She has conducted research for various clients at national, regional, and local levels in both the UK and Spain, including major European Commission projects. In addition to her academic work, Uyarra is involved in editorial duties for the journal Regional Studies and is a fellow of the Regional Studies Association. Her work also aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing the importance of research in creating inclusive and sustainable futures.
