Biography

Elyse Couch is an Assistant Professor in Health Services, Policy Practice at Brown University's School of Public Health. She holds a PhD in Health Service Population Research from King's College London and completed her postdoctoral training at Brown University's School of Public Health's Center for Gerontology and Healthcare Research. Her research primarily focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and dementias, examining the impact of early diagnosis on healthcare utilization and the role of novel Alzheimer's disease biomarkers for patients and caregivers. Dr. Couch employs a range of research methods, including epidemiology, qualitative methods, and systematic reviews, to support and lead review projects at the AHRQ-designated Brown University Evidence-based Practice Center (EPC). Currently, her projects include studying the association between the diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and patient and caregiver outcomes among Medicare beneficiaries, the use of Alzheimer's disease biomarkers by primary care clinicians, and the experiences of patient care partners with anti-amyloid therapies.
