Biography

Originally from Vancouver, BC, Em Pijl has a strong background in community health nursing, particularly working with at-risk populations, including those who use substances and are HIV/HCV positive. Additionally, Dr. Pijl aims to improve health outcomes through enhanced housing stability and treatment referrals for individuals experiencing problematic substance use. She employs quantitative mixed research methods to explore and increase public acceptability of harm reduction strategies.
