Biography

Ema joined University College London in 2011 and has 15 years of industry experience, primarily in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering roles. Her prior positions include consultancy and work in shipyards for research and development projects. After graduating in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Belgrade, Ema began her career at Brodotehnika Shipyard in Serbia, where she was part of the Design Department and eventually became the Design Department Manager. In 2001, Ema transitioned to the luxury yacht design sector with West Bay SonShip Yachts Ltd in Canada. The following year, she joined Oceanic Consulting Corporation Ltd. in St. John’s, Canada, where she offered consultancy services in Naval Hydrodynamics and engaged in marine performance evaluation projects to assist in the development of her clients' designs through preliminary analyses and comprehensive experimental CFD modeling programs. After relocating to the UK in 2008, she became a Senior Naval Architect at Houlder Ltd, working in the Offshore and Marine Renewable Energy sector, where she managed design contracts valued at £1 million and led teams for various extensive offshore projects.
