Biography

Emanuela Lotti completed her PhD in Economics at the University of Southampton in 2004. She joined the University of Southampton in 2010 as a Principal Teaching Fellow and has an extensive background in economics education. She has focused her research on labor mobility and development, emphasizing the evaluation of interventions in assessment feedback. Currently, her research areas include applying diagnostic tests and adaptive learning within causal inference courses, particularly with a focus on machine learning in quantitative social sciences. Emanuela teaches various undergraduate and postgraduate modules such as Labour Economics, Development, Macroeconomics, and International Trade. Prior to her role at Southampton, she was an Associate Lecturer at Portsmouth Business School and held numerous research fellowships at the University of Surrey, where she acquired significant experience in her field of study.
