Emeline Bolmont's research focuses on aspects related to planets around low-mass stars, particularly in orbit simulations and planetary climates, as part of her group known as DynaClim. This group comprises young scientists working on the dynamics of climates in planetary systems. Bolmont plays a pivotal role at the newly established Centre Vie dans l'Univers, which brings together researchers from various disciplines including chemistry, physics, climatology, biology, geophysics, and astrophysics. The aim of the center is to carry out interdisciplinary projects that advance fundamental scientific questions regarding the emergence of life on Earth and the ability to distinguish or recognize life on other planets. She obtained her PhD from the University of Bordeaux, France, where she researched the habitability of exoplanets orbiting low-mass stars and brown dwarfs under the guidance of Sean N. Raymond and Franck Selsis. Following her PhD, Bolmont completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Namur, Belgium, with Anne-Sophie Libert and furthered her research in planetary climates during a postdoctoral position at CEA Saclay, France, working on tide modeling with Stéphane Mathis. She joined the University of Geneva as an assistant professor in November 2018 and is expected to achieve tenure as an associate professor in early 2025.
