Biography

Emeline Pierre is an assistant professor in the Department of French-language Literatures since June 2024. She holds a doctorate in French-language literatures (2016, University of Montreal), a Master's in literary studies (2007), and a Bachelor's in teaching French as a second language (2003) from the University of Quebec in Montreal. Her research focuses on Caribbean literature, detective fiction, women's writing, and ecocriticism. A member of the Parliament of Francophone Writers, she has published various works. In a previous life, she was the owner of a Creole restaurant in Montreal. She is also a musician, playing both piano and flute.
