Biography

With over twenty-five years of experience in research and development, Dr. Emil Strumban has a special focus on nanotechnology and biomaterials applied to the development of new diagnostic techniques. He is the Associate Director at the Institute of Diagnostic Imaging Research, where he manages a collaborative research program. His research interests encompass medical implant devices, the development of advanced diagnostic techniques, and the evaluation of biotissues and nanostructured materials, particularly in exploring low-temperature techniques for medical and industrial applications. Prior to joining the IDIR, Dr. Strumban held the position of Vice President of Technology at Advanced X-Ray Technology Group, affiliated with Henry Ford Health System, where he was responsible for the development and testing of portable x-ray devices for breast cancer treatment and diagnostics. From 1993 to 2003, he served as Senior Technologist at Synamatix Corporation and was a Director at the Ovonic Synthetic Materials Company, gaining recognition in the design and manufacture of precision x-ray optics for a wide range of analytical and biomedical applications. Dr. Strumban is a Principal Investigator who has been awarded grants from NIH and SBIR DOE. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and has a master’s degree in Physical Electronics from Kishinev Technical University.
