Biography

Emiliano Bilotti is an Associate Professor in Multifunctional Sustainable Polymer Composites at the Department of Aeronautics, Imperial College London. He joined Imperial in 2022, following academic positions at the School of Engineering and Materials Science at Queen Mary University of London, where he served as an Academic Fellow, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Reader. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a Research Technology Manager at Nanoforce Technology, Ltd., which focused on R&D in the area of (nano)materials processing from 2010 to 2011. He completed his doctoral studies in 2009 at the Materials Department of Queen Mary University of London, specializing in polymer/clay nanocomposites and developing new environmentally friendly flame retardant materials as part of the European STRP project “Nanofire.” Following this, he undertook postdoctoral research (2009-2010) focused on smart textiles within the “Inteltex” FP7 EC project. Before moving to the UK, he graduated ‘cum laude’ in Materials Engineering (equivalent to MEng) from the University of Naples
