Dr. Emily Boyd

Biography

Emily Boyd is a professor at the Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (LUCSUS) and is recognized internationally for her contributions to sustainability science. She has directed LUCSUS for the past seven years, where she also serves as the Deputy Coordinator and as the co-Director of the Nature-Based Future Solutions program. Emily has authored articles for significant scientific bodies including the IPCC and IPBES, and she is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Global Sustainability. With a robust background in social sciences, her research interests include climate change mitigation and adaptation, resilience, and addressing loss and damage in vulnerable communities. She has been involved in notable collaborative projects across disciplines and geographies, focusing on issues such as extreme climate events and their implications on climate justice. Emily's teaching portfolio spans various sustainability and development-related courses, including graduate supervision for numerous PhD and Master's theses. Throughout her career, she has held leadership roles and contributed to several national and international research initiatives and consortia. Her work aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing collaborative efforts for environmental stewardship and sustainable development initiatives globally.
