Emily Christison-Lagay, MD, is a pediatric surgeon with broad clinical interests spanning the spectrum of pediatric surgery. Her expertise includes congenital anomalies, newborn surgical conditions, common childhood surgical issues such as hernias and appendicitis, as well as the management of childhood tumors and trauma. Dr. Christison-Lagay is the Surgical Director of the Pediatric Thyroid Center at Yale and serves as the Director of Pediatric Trauma. Following the completion of her pediatric surgical training, she pursued additional training in the medical and surgical management of pediatric solid tumors, including thoracic, liver, renal tumors, neuroblastoma, and childhood sarcomas. Dr. Christison-Lagay is board-certified in pediatric surgery and completed her medical degree at Harvard Medical School. She completed her general surgical residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and a pediatric surgical fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, followed by a 'super' fellowship in pediatric surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is a member of the Children's Oncology Group, the American Thyroid Association, and the Taskforce on Pediatric Thyroid Disease, and is a founding member of the Child and Adolescent Thyroid Consortium.
