Biography

Emily Christison-Lagay, MD, is a pediatric surgeon with broad clinical interests in pediatric surgery, including congenital anomalies, common childhood surgical conditions such as hernias, appendicitis, gallbladder disease, and childhood tumors. As the Surgical Director of the Pediatric Thyroid Center at Yale, she leads clinical efforts in managing benign and malignant thyroid disease in children. Dr. Christison-Lagay completed her medical degree at Harvard Medical School and pursued a general surgical residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. Following this, she completed two fellowships: one at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and a specialized 'super' fellowship in pediatric surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is board-certified in both general and pediatric surgery and is an active member of multiple professional organizations, including the Children's Oncology Group and the American Thyroid Association. Her dedication to pediatric surgical care is reflected in her involvement with programs addressing pediatric trauma and inflammatory bowel disease, among others.
