Biography

Emily Clem received her Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Ohio State University and her PhD in Linguistics from UC Berkeley. Her research focuses on the interplay between syntax, semantics, and morphology, with a particular emphasis on using data from understudied languages to inform syntactic theory. She has collaborated with Indigenous language community members and other linguists on the documentation and large-scale typology projects related to languages in Africa and the Americas, especially Amazonian languages.
