Biography

Emily Edwards is an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University, where she is also a member of the Duke Quantum Center. Her research interests are primarily focused on science communication and informal STEM education, specifically aimed at increasing youth and adult engagement in topics related to quantum information science and engineering. Having earned her B.S. from Appalachian State University in 2002, followed by an M.S. in 2008 and a Ph.D. in 2009 from the University of Maryland, College Park, she is dedicated to exploring methods to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts. Edwards has been acknowledged as a Fellow by the American Physical Society in 2022.
