Dr. Emily Feinberg

Biography

Emily Feinberg, ScD, CPNP is a Professor in the Department of Health Services, Policy and Practice at Brown University. She is a faculty member of the Hassenfeld Child Innovation Institute and has received her ScD and MSc from Harvard School of Public Health, along with an MSN in Parent-Child Nursing from Simmons College. Feinberg has clinical training as a pediatric nurse practitioner and continues to see patients at DotHouse Health, a federally qualified community health center in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood. She serves as the Director of the New Emerging Initiative TEAM Children Scaling Innovation Center, which focuses on pediatric integrated behavioral care implemented across seven community health centers in Massachusetts. Her work emphasizes redesigning community-based child health systems through various public health priorities such as maternal depression screening, autism services, and the integration of child mental health services within pediatric primary care. Feinberg leads research investigating models that engage lay health workers, such as family navigators and community health workers, to ensure equitable delivery of behavioral health services. Her funding sources include the National Institute of Mental Health and the CDC, among others, and she has a long history of mentoring doctoral students and junior faculty.
