Biography

Emily J. Gilmore, MD is a member of the Division of Neurocritical Care at Yale School of Medicine and a neurointensivist and critical care EEG attending at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut since 2012. Dr. Gilmore completed her neurology residency and a three-year combined fellowship at Columbia University, developing a clinical research interest in neuromonitoring. Having obtained board certification in critical care EEG monitoring, she was recruited by Yale to help build state-of-the-art Neuro-ICU technology aimed at delivering cutting-edge care for patients with acute brain injuries. Dr. Gilmore’s overarching research interests revolve around understanding and translating physiological biomarkers obtained from invasive and non-invasive multimodal brain monitoring to individualize care and improve outcomes for patients with acute brain injuries. Additionally, she serves as co-director of the Critical Care EEG program and has received recognition as a clinical researcher, including awards from the American Brain Foundation and the Neurocritical Care Society. Dr. Gilmore aims to enhance functional and cognitive outcomes for survivors of acute brain injury through her work in critical care neurology.
