Biography

Emily Winograd Leonard is a Lecturer at Columbia Law School and an Assistant Attorney General in the Law Enforcement Misconduct Investigative Office (LEMIO) at the New York State Office of the Attorney General. In her role at LEMIO, she investigates law enforcement officers and police departments throughout New York State. Prior to her current position, Emily worked as a public defender at the Legal Aid Society, serving individuals in Brooklyn and the Bronx by representing them during arraignments and trials. She received her law degree from New York University School of Law, where she was also an Arthur Garfield Hays Civil Liberties Fellow.
